How We Started

Back in 2019, I was helping a mate with his trucking business. He'd built this amazing company but was drowning in paperwork. Every tax season became this massive stress bomb because nobody had taught him proper record keeping.

That's when Eleanor and I realised something was missing. Sure, you can find plenty of accounting courses that teach theory. But where do you learn the day-to-day stuff? How to actually set up systems that work? How to spot problems before they become expensive mistakes?

So we started phylarionex with a simple idea: teach financial management the way real businesses need it. Practical. Straightforward. No academic fluff — just the skills that actually matter when you're running a company in Australia.

Eleanor Thorne

Managing Director

Spent fifteen years working with Australian compliance frameworks before switching to education. Eleanor has this gift for explaining complex regulations in ways that actually make sense. She handles our curriculum development and keeps us aligned with current ATO requirements.

Henrik Lindqvist

Head of Education

Former business owner who learned financial management the hard way — through trial and error. Now he focuses on creating learning programs that give people the practical skills he wished he'd had. Henrik specialises in turning complex processes into simple, actionable steps.

From a casual conversation about business challenges to becoming Australia's most practical financial education provider.

2019

The Problem Becomes Clear

After helping several small business owners with their financial record keeping, we recognised a pattern. Everyone struggled with the same basic systems. Traditional education wasn't addressing real-world implementation challenges.

2021

First Pilot Programs

Launched our first hands-on workshops in Canberra. Twenty-three local business owners participated in our initial program. The feedback was incredible — finally, someone was teaching practical skills instead of theory.

2023

Remote Learning Innovation

COVID pushed us to develop our online learning platform. Turns out, remote financial education works brilliantly when you focus on real examples and interactive problem-solving rather than lectures.

2025

Expanding Across Australia

Now serving businesses from Perth to Brisbane. Our programs have helped over 800 Australian companies improve their financial management systems. We're planning new specialized courses for 2026.
